Wintermoon (1993)

Released in 1993, Storm's Wintermoon demo is a short but impactful recording. It only features two real songs, one of which is pure '80s Bathory worship done well. The highlight here is the first track, "Underworld", which is a slow, mid-paced crawl toward an open grave. This is dripping with a morbid, deathlike feeling that permeates your very being. The vocals are raspy and grim, reminiscent of the Incarnator demo, and perfectly suit the material. Production-wise, this is lo-fi but listenable. Everything can be heard well despite the overall muddiness, and even the synth and clean guitar bits are easily discerned. If you like raw, ugly black metal with a truly dark atmosphere this is highly recommended!
